This project comes from Randy. He writes:

Here’s a picture of a Frank Lloyd Wright style lamp I built. If you would consider it for project of the week, I have additional photos/close-ups of the joints, etc. It is made of oak and has many splined miter joints. I finished it with a natural danish oil. I made a second one of walnut (I’ll add a picture of it too) and I’m working on the second walnut one as a set for the living room.

That is one of my favorite Wright pieces. What did you use for the shade material and how did you make it? Would love to see a “how to” article on the complete project.

Were these made with purchased plans or is it your own design?? They look great and the walnut is a great contrast to the lampshade. Wouldn’t mind some details to turn out a few of my own.

Beautiful job, Randy! As others mentioned earlier, I also would love to see more details – dimensions, info on shade material and construction, post and cantilever construction (2 pcs laminated, one with a wiring groove?? or??)

Maybe if you have a convenient website you could put up a page or 2 and post the URL for us?

Hi From these comments lots of people would like to see the plans for these georgeous lamps. However the link provided by thewoodwhisperer doesn’t lead to the plans but a half constructed website with no contact info. Is there any way to get in touch with Randy or do you have the plans in an archive?

I have done a lot of web searching but no luck. A similiar situation exists at lumberjocks. Lots of references that lead nowhere.

The lamp looks very nice, but some of the photos seems to be missing.

http://cdn1.thewoodwhisperer.c.....g_2655.jpg is not displayed, so I guess it is missing on the server – and the same goes for 5 of the other images.
