This Jewelry Box is designed to pack a lot of storage into a small space. It features five drawers, an upper storage compartment, side compartments, and a hidden drawer. The wood I used is highly figured Walnut and Honduran Mahogany.

I’ve never seen that spray on felt material before. I’ve wondered had to add felt without using actual sheets of it making it look cheap or sloppy. Great video and great looking piece.

Excellent preview!! I have to admit this project wasn’t really top of my ‘list’ in terms of projects I wanted to get (simply because I’m not really a “jewelry box” type of person), but after seeing the details and techniques in this video, it’s moved up more than a few notches. I can’t help but think of making it and giving it to a very special young lady in my life as well.

I have just purchased a quilted maple billet, 5A figure. This looks like a wonderful fit. I should have enough walnut as a substitute for the mahogany. Your designs and details are impressive, to say the least. In fact, I have to make two of these…both daughters have graduations coming (high school and med school). I’m gonna have my hands full. I may need to go the full plans route…or they’ll never receive their gifts. :

I wanted to just find the plans because I’m still learning how to do dovetails and I’m not currently confident in the skill but I could still make it with some inset wood screws if it’s available to just purchase plans I would love to do it as well as I can’t afford the $80 for all of it

  I understand. But the PDF without the videos is only part of the information. So selling the PDF would be nothing but customer service headaches for me.

  Sorry, no. The videos are essentially the instruction manual for the plans. The plans alone are not enough information for us to warranty the product.

Using the free video as inspiration, I was able to make a pretty nice set of jewelry boxes.
My father-in-law passed away a few years back and had a bunch of exotic wood in the basement. My wife flew across the country, boxed a bunch and shipped it home. It was with this wood that I made three of the boxes with, one for each of his daughters.

This is something I’m contemplating building. Would use the plans and bell Forest kit to build it. But. I’m not very confident of making those dovetails. Is there an alternate joinery option included in the plans? I thought someone mentioned that

  There are definitely alternatives, but they are not covered in the video series. The gallery on the Guild site might provide some good inspiration though.

  No, sorry. The PDF doesn’t come with any instructions so selling the files alone would be very incomplete. The videos are the instruction manual.
