My workshop is a project in itself. It is a 3 car garage that I had to rewire. My wife’s car and my motorcycle need to sleep in the garage at night. I try to arrange everything in such a manner to accommodate the car and bike but still retain some functionality to it. I have some nice open space if the car is out, so this arrangement works well. I’m a amateur at best and still have tons to learn. Most of my projects are building stuff for the house and shop.

I’m jealous. Nice tools, nice space. I’m sure you are going to have a blast building stuff in your workshop.

I have a one car garage. It’s big for only being for one car, but it’s still a tight fit and all my tools need to be mobile. I’d love a space and tool set like yours one day.

Thank you, I had all the standard home depot special in my shop, i save up for a couple of years and decided I want to upgrade. I must say a lot of people referred me to Powermatic, at the end of the day Laguna was the one’s that work with me to get what I want with in my price range. That how I ended up with Laguna and not Powermatic. I don’t have experience with either one so I can’t comment on the differences. I can say that I’m very impressed with the tools especially my band saw. I have 2 delta items also – my drill press and one of my dust collectors that is permanently connected to my table saw.

I would like to add a drum sander in the next couple of years, but for now i am very happy with what I have and thank full for it.

Nice setup!….on a side note how do you like the rip fence on your table saw? Im looking at that one as an aftermarket add on for mine and was wondering what its like?

  You might want to consider the Red-Line fence. Exceptionally accurate and it provides reliable, repeatable results. It’s also quite inexpensive considering the awesome quality of this fence.
  
  I have a Powermatic PM1200 tablesaw and I had to modify my fence because the HMWP (high molecular weight polyethylene) fence runners were twisted and uneven. It was so bad I was unable to calibrate the parallelism to the blade. I replaced those with 1″ BB plywood runners and re-calibrated the square tubing track on which the fence slides and everything was good after that. I also changed the ridiculously stretched vinyl tape measure on the track for a metal tape. Took me an entire day but it was well worth it.
  
  But my plan B, had my attempts not provided satisfactory results, was to buy the Red-Line fence. I didn’t have to but I wouldn’t have hesitated to do so. The reviews are unanimous. All those who bought the fence swear by it.
  
  The nice thing about it is that it replaces not only the fence itself but also the inherently inaccurate rough square steel tubing track with a precision aluminum extrusion track. And it’ll fit any tablesaw.

@ Jim , it a BMW Dakar – they discontinued it in 07.
@ Stephen, Ive never had a good fence, so to me this one is just awesome. It’s very easy to setup and so far it works great. It slides very easy and the stability is also fantastic. Im at the point where I’m going to drop in a router plate insert into the extension portion so I can use the fence for the table saw and the router. I’m doing it this way to save space and to get a square fence on the router.

Great shop! How do you like that lathe. Price point and size, that is tops on my list. Just want to hear from someone with first hand experience.

Bill so far it been awesome. I do a lot of turning and the 2 hp vfd is just fantastic. It about a year old and still running good. I run most of my turning between 450 – 1250 rpm. It very heavy so it does not move at all under high rpm. It max out at 3200 rpm.

The table saw and fence system are made for Laguna by Grizzly. The fence is very similar to the one that comes on the Saw Stop. My favorite thing about both fences is that they have adjustments in front of the rail too. These adjustments aren’t to keep the fence square, but make it really easy to move left and right on the rail when unlocked. I wish my Jet Xacta fence had them! My local Rockler store has the Laguna saw and fence on display.

I must say the 6 point adjustment is nice, I thought that is what all fences have, but in my defense I am new to woodworking and have very litle experience with equipment. All of my decisions was driven by reviews and articles.

That poor floor jack under the lathe! :) Too bad someone can’t build a little garage for it to keep it clean! LOL. The shop looks nice. Have fun!

Nice selection of tools, Mo. How do you like the Laguna tools? I’ve liked what I hear and read about their tools, particularly their lathes. Is that an 18/47? Nicely covered with shavings, too!

Larry, so far I have no complaints. The table saw gets used the most out of all the tools and the lathe is next in line. The work great. I I have to add too my list it will definatly be a laguna. As for the customer service, it been awesome. I hade one small problem with the lathe, the switch was funky. They offered to replace the meshine but I told them just to sent me the switch an was very simple to install. Eversince it was running like a champ.

I’m loving the fact you’re running Ubuntu (Linux) on your PC! Maybe it has something to do with being an Information Technology professional. :) Nice power tools too!
