Ken’s Garage Workshop

My shop is in a 3 car garage. My center stall has a door leading to the outside. My son in law has the third stall with roll up door. The other side will have a wall with an Apartment. Most tools are Craftsman, Ryobi Drills, Planer, and the Table Saw is Ryobi/Sears, with a sliding Miter Table.

I can only dream about having two more bays of shop space. My one car garage shop is tight at best and forget about finishing inside.

Its always interesting to see garage workshops. I’ve been struggling with trying to make a two car garage into a workshop while still keeping space open for a car. Being able to see how others make it work is always helpful. Thanks for sharing!

wow. you got a lot in a fairly small place. Good place for the table saw at the end of the work table. How does that router table work for you? I was looking at one similar but was advised to just make one instead of buying.

Nice shop. I envy the overhead space a garage shop allows. I am in a basement with just over 7 ft. ceilings. Enjoy all that space !

I have that dovetail jig after picking it up used but haven’t gotten the nerve to use it yet. How well does it work Ken?

One thing I love about my Shopsmiths is being able to fit so much into so little room. I’m limited to one bay of a 3-car garage but with all the functions of my Shopsmiths (I have 3) and their mobility, I’m fine on space.

I like the idea of being able to turn around to access another tool or function… Going to have to borrow that… Just cleaned out some more basement to move my wood mayhem into (and coincidentally rescue it from the floodwaters).

I just bought the same Table saw off of Craig’s list. I was wondering if you had ever used the router accessory kit on the saw…? Do you prefer your bench top router table?

Ken- looks great! I’ve got a one car garage that also holds the car – so lots of portable bench top tools and working in the shop means moving the car first…I’m looking at bench top drill presses and I see yours – what make/model did you get and are you happy? thanks, Rusty

WOW! What I’d give for space like that. I have a one car garage and it’s subdivided in half. I have the back half at 9′ x 10′. There is no window. I have a drill press, table saw, joiner, thickness planer, radial arm saw, dust collector and router table. It’s so tight I have to go outside to fart!

Your shop looks clean. How do you keep it that way. I have a cyclone. If I had a peg board like yours the tools would be covered in dust in no time.

Hi Chris, might try router on saw again, does give you more room. Bench works for ok now.

Not sure what I would do with that much space – Probably clutter it up. I currently am using 1/4 of my 2 car garage. So I am constantly moving stuff around.
