Build your own Taper Maker! Cut tapers on workpieces as thick as 2.5″ and as long as 36″ (on most saws). Use it to cut tapers and edge joint at the table saw or bandsaw. We supply the digital plans and hardware (minus 4 small screws and optional rubberized cork) and you supply the wood. See the Taper Maker sled in action here.

What You’ll Receive

  • Hardware Kit including all of the main hardware components. The only hardware you need to supply are 4 small screws for attaching the runner and the stop and optional rubberized cork
  • Pre-printed patterns as well as a printable digital pattern set in case you make a mistake

What You’ll Need

  • A half sheet of 1/2″ plywood (you can use 3/4″ plywood for the base if you want)
  • About 2 BF of solid wood (milled to just over 3/8″ thick)
  • Tools: Table Saw, Planer, Drill Press, Bandsaw, Sander, Router with an edge guide
  • Bits: 1/4″ router bit, 7/16″ drill bit, 5/8″ forstner bit, 3/8″ drill bit
  • If you want to add rubberized cork for additional grip, you can purchase this stuff.
