most definitely that would help. I use to be an avid mountain biker and I suffered from finger numbness until I bought something very similar...the difference is noticable!

Friend of mine has a pair of motorcycle riding gloves. They have a silicone gel insert at the base of the palm and the calous pads at the base of the fingers. (supposed to reduce hand-numbing vibrations from the bike to keep your hands on the 'bars for those long trips.)

Would those work as well, or would that be more cost than benefit?

I think you can Eric, but you need to be careful not to do any damage. Also, I wonder if there is a realistic chance of lodging the particles in deeper if, lets say, you sprayed the air from the wrong direction?

Wouldn't some compressed air do the trick? I think I read someone say that that's what you should use to clean out abranet sheets.

I use something similar from time to time. I actually have a pair that help to minimize the vibrations off my tools like sanders. And they protect my hands from splinters too.

The biggest message I got from the show is this: The best method for cleaning your dust collector filter is not to wash it, but to beat it with a dead horse. :)

For large rough lumber where the danger is minimized because of lumber size, then I use these weight lifting gloves because the finger tips are open and you still have full control.
