Sounds like a great partnership. My nearest Rockler is nearly 2 hours away, but the UPS trucks know the route to my house quite well...So well that they've learned I prefer my packages left back by the garage door rather then at my front door.

I can relate to wondering the isles or Rockler...I was like that when I finally had a chance to visit the WoodSmith store in Des Moines. I had to continually explain to the employees that I wasn't looking for anything, just enjoying the sights. :-)

My Father and I often walked the aisles of the Ontario Mills Rockler store while my Mom did her mall shopping. The Ontario area also has a ton of tool stores, lumberyards, millwork suppliers, etc. They all come in very handy.

Yup that's correct Mattias. Any link on our home page has that little tag on it and will we will get credit for the sale. As far as the local stores are concerned, I am not sure there is anything that can be done for that.

While Rockler may not have been the original source of my desire to work with wood, they have definately been there to keep this desire burning bright. I have noticed that my urge to create has waned slightly, since they have closed the store in my area.

I miss going into those aisles filled with goodies and toys begging to be purchased and used in furniture, walking down aisles with tears in my eyes at all the lovely new ideas just waiting for me to open the cover and learn, and the aroma of wood just wafting gently on the air-conditioned currents of the store....

OK, I'm better now. But, as dylder asked, is there something we can show or mention to the retail stores when we visit in person, instead of on line? (Got your Wood Whisperer Membership Card handy?)

Looks like a click on the Rockler logo under "Proud to be Sponsored By:" would take you to the Rockler website and give credit to our favorite Wood Whisperer. The link has sid=AFN86 as part of the link. Marc, is that correct?

Marc, that's great news. Rockler should be a perfect fit as a sponsor; they can equip a woodworker from rookie to accomplished. Look out for those clamp sales.

The website is good, but there is no substitute to talking with real people and picking up a tool. I try to visit Rockler whenever I travel close to a store. There is a store in Asheville NC, but that's too far from the Triangle area. Rockler you're reading this, please consider a store around Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill. How about Morrisville somewhere? Lots of woodworking going on around here...

That Rockler store in Houston is about 120 miles away for me, but I try to stop in when I am in the neighborhood - which is 3 or 4 times a year.

great company
they are nice and have one good catalog
glad to see em as your new sponsor

-----------------
just one complain about em

most of the time they charge ship and handing
because I am in Brazil, I am charged twice!
charged to US and to my country?
not some shipping upgrade - really 2 times

dunno why they do it, but that's the rule (bad one)
not good for international customers

I have a few Rockler stores about 2 1/2 hrs from me and the one I go to when ever I get a chance, which is not very often, some of the staff remembers me, and I am not a big spender either!! That shows the kind of place they are, not only a sales place, but a passion orientated place as well. I have had questions on a few things and it can turn into an hour long talk about everything woodworking!! They are also the store where the rest of the stores around send their clearance items, and that can be a goldmine of savings:) Congrats to both Rockler and TWW, and the Guild discount pays for my shipping!!
