Wednesday Night Chat 2/13

February 14, 2008 | Filed Under Blog, Wednesday Chat

I know many folks wish they could make it to our Wed. night chats, so I decided to try something new. As a spur of the moment thing during our chat this evening, I came up with a way to record everything. And since the chat topics tend to stray over the course of two hours, I decided to record a smaller period of time where the discussion was focused 100% on woodworking. And that’s what we have here. If the response is good, I can do this every week.

And be sure to hit the little “Full Screen” button on the player, otherwise you wont be able to read the chat. Thanks everybody

    Great idea Marc!
You always seem to be one step ahead…

Yeah, that was worth 20 minutes of my time.

I got an old Craftsman contractor’s saw on Craigslist. I got the upgraded pulleys, and a Biesemeye fance and 52# rails for $120. So for less than $400, I think I have a better saw than I could have gotten new at lowes. I hope to eventually upgrade to a cabinet saw, but I’m in my basement now and that’ll have to come much later.

So that’s my $0.02 on old saws/ craftsman/ et. all.

This is Pretty cool, but as it is with too many shiny things its hard for me to stay focused. WW / Pets /Gaming these are a few of my favorite things…. maybe a suggested topic at the Beginning?

    Marc,

    Great idea….

I like to be able to catch up on the chat. I think it is a keeper!

I had totally missed that “TWW Live Chat” was a recurring event, and that it’s on every Wednesday night. The video idea is pretty cool as a “taste” of what it’s like.

I don’t know…it seemed so….Oh, how do I say this….it just felt really familiar. A real deja vu moment, you know? ;)

I found it interesing, I have to agree with tburn, a pre-published list gathered thru the week from your e-mails would be one idea.

    Keep on keeping on Marc

Well, I missed this week:( At least I was getting something done in the shop. Without the interaction you miss a lot. Be there or be out of square! Hopefully, next week.

    Marc,

    Nice Chat.
I have a request for your video presentations. I would really enjoy a session where you review how you store your hand tools etc. I often lose track of your presentations while trying to look in the background to see how you store your tools.

I think it is a keeper. I don’t have much of an opportunity to get on the chats so it’s nice to get it after the fact. I really got caught up into it that I found myself trying to ask/answer a few questions - doah!
