The Live Page is Amazing!

If you haven’t seen it yet, you have to check out the Live Page. When John Funk and I began discussing what we wanted that page to be, it was tricky getting all of the wants to match up with the technological limitations. But thanks to Funk’s hard work, I think we finally have what I always dreamed of. Right now, on a Saturday afternoon, there are 6-7 woodworkers broadcasting live from their shops. Its an opportunity to see woodworkers from all around the world do their thing. Today alone we have folks from Boston, Washington State, New York, and of course Phoenix. So with the design of the new live page, you can have multiple windows of various sizes open and you can arrange them any way you like. And when you want to ask them a question, you can join in the woodworking conversation by logging into the chat room. If you ask me, this is one of the coolest things available to woodworkers today. So if you haven’t checked it out yet, please do! Of course, if you have a slow internet connection your experience might not be as fluid.

Although for me, IWF was about representing my sponsors and meeting up with readers/viewers, nearly everyone else has one thing on their mind: tools. So we did our best to get some footage of the most talked about tools of the show. I know we missed quite a few (specifically, Jet’s new oscillating drum sander). But with our tight schedule and impending exhaustion, we did the best we could. Nothing fancy, nothing funny, just tools!
