On the Road Again
November 15, 2007 | Filed Under Blog
Well tomorrow we leave for sunny beautiful Tulsa, Oklahoma! Its gonna be a crazy weekend of fun and woodworking comradery. I was even interviewed by a local paper, Tulsa World. Check it out.Not sure what’s up with that picture though. LOL.
So if you are going to be in the area, be sure to stop by. And if you need more information about the event, check out the Green Country Woodworker’s Site.
As usual when I travel, I may get a bit behind on emails. But I always catch up. My fingers are like 10 little ninjas and the keys are the unsuspecting victims! So have a great weekend.

Have a great time! Because, you know I live vicariously through you! I’m hoping to get a life sometime next year. Until then….
Cool Mark, way to go, maybe one day my local paper will interview me too :), well a brotha can dream can’t he…
I wonder if anyone will get busted scalping tickets to see The Wood Whisperer???
Well there goes my plan for making some extra money this weekend. Why do you think I am bringing Nicole??? hehe
Just remember, if you and Nicole decide to take a nice relaxing road trip back to AZ… stop by Elk City and lunch is on my wife Michele and I. Otherwise, have a great time enjoying the Oklahoma hospitality.
Have fun guys and take it all in! Oh, and give those little ninja’s a rest; you’ve gotta watch out for those pesky little crittters ya know!
nice mug shot - they should’ve used the “007″ pic with Nicole as the Bond girl instead…
BTW RJ - want to buy some tickets???? I got 2nd row, center stage……….
Dang it! If I just didn’t live 822 miles away from Tulsa I would be there! I am not sure my wife would understand that kind of a road trip.
Sounds like a great event. Best of luck!
Jeff
Man! I have family and a bunch of friends in Tulsa! I wish I would have known this was going on so I could have arranged to go to the seminar. As it is my Saturday is booked up and its four hours to the Garden Center from work. I’d never make the Friday night! Crap!
Marc, if you start doing workshops around the country, put up a calendar so we can plan for them. I would love to get to one. Any chance you would be visiting Kansas City?
When are you coming ot Orange County, CA???

LOL like the concerts in the 70’s..She will be selling someone a ticket or a WW t shirt, and the cops will show up and she will have take off running down the street!
marc,
so, what do you think of canada? any chance of getting you up to the great white north?!!! there are some good wood shows in ontario!!!
p.s. we have summer up here!! LOL!!!
have fun
cheers
Well the truth is guys, Im not a big fan of traveling. As a result, I dont come cheap. lol. But at the very least, whenever we travel anywhere, we will have meetups. That could be a lot of fun. I do get out to SoCal at least once a year. We still have family and friends there.
As far as me doing seminars around the country (and Canada), its really not in my hands. I can only go if I receive an invite. I guess I could always pick a popular corner and stand on a box and start preaching my woodworking advice. lol.
Hey Marc!
We are only 4-1/2 hours north of Tulsa, by car!!!
I love Tulsa. Great University town, a lot of good stuff happening there. Have a great time, enjoy the woodworking, the good eating, and the terrific company!

it’s a shame I didn’t think quicker when you were up in the northeast for Fine Woodworking Mag. - Syracuse would’ve been a good stopping place for you. it would’ve at least saved you a meal or two and an overnight stay. I’m a better cook than a woodworker anyway :)
There’s always next time…
Hey Marc,
Nice interview! Congratulations.
You’re quoted as saying this:
“I no longer do custom furniture. It’s 100-percent Wood Whisperer,”
Is that for real? Did that last armoire project just fully push you over the edge? :)
-John
lol. those armoires were just too much for me!! :)
Its not entirely accurate to say that Im not doing cutom woodworking because I am. Im just being very very selective about paying jobs I take on. And generally I will only take them on if I can use them in the show. So The Wood Whisperer is the real focus at this point.
