Off-Topic Favor

March 19, 2008 | Filed Under Blog

Nicole’s high school friend, Marcus Engel, is a motivational speaker and an all around good guy. But he isn’t your typical Tony Robbins type. Marcus was in a nearly fatal car accident with a drunk driver and lost his vision as a result. He has an amazing story to tell and travels across the country sharing his perspectives and insights on life. He has a promotional video out on YouTube and has set a goal to reach 1000 views by April. How about we help him get 1000 views by tomorrow?

Before you watch, know that there are a few painful photos of Marcus from his recovery. Thanks everyone.

WOW! That was powerful stuff. Not only do I recommend this being shown to anyone’s teenager out there for how it impacted his life, but it is also inspirational in how he chose to deal with it!

By the Way, I was viewer 1038! Goal met!

My guess guys is that their views are non ‘real-time”. I am sure they just update them a couple times a day.

Well it sounds like your friend landed on his feet. I wonder what would have happened with him if he had not had that accident.

Reminds me of this recent post on Chris Schwarz blog:

Thanks for taking us down this less traveled path. I look forward to getting his book. I always find great inspiration from those that have faced their greatest adversity and found their greatest self. If his fees aren’t too exorbitant, I’d like to see if we can book him for our annual
    safety dinner.
    Thanks again Marc,

    Vic

Thank you for the link to Marcus’s video and subsequently his website.
His Story should be required reading/viewing for all high school students. It is truly a story of life, and more importantly overcoming obstacles.

Marc and Nicole your spreading the word should give you peace!

Thank you again. I for one plan to spread the Marc’s message.

Got something to say?
