I have been working with Jessem recently on a new router table setup, and in my conversations with them I found out about this incredible deal. Jessem is having a blowout sale on a limited number of imported Mast-R-Lifts for only $129!! So you will save $200 with this deal!!! Marc – Thanks for the heads up!!! I purchased. I am working on with the help of the forum building my router table into table saw wing – getting all the pieces together – so this could have not come at a more PERFECT time – thanks for all you do brother – I am LIFTED!!!! JCM

All I have to say is that I think Jessem made the right decision to continue producing in Canada
Not sure if I should say or not and I don’t know if this has anything to do with the pricing of these lifts, but Jessem has very recently been acquired by a Canadian manufacturer of tools. In a short month or two they will be showing up with a different color scheme according to the rep from a certain tool company who was in our store yesterday.
Hi Allen. Someone is spreading this rumour, this is the second time it has come up in the past week. JessEm has not been acquired and there are no discussions about this happening. I’d say this is probably just speculation by the sales rep from this company. We will be producing our newest Router Lift for another company in their colors as well as under the JessEm brand. Thank you for making this comment though, it has made us aware that this is being spread to our customers.

So… now that i have this lift coming in, who now has to buy a router for the lift??? I think i might have to. I currently have an older Crapsman in my current router table, but i dont see any adapters for this router.

After ordeing one of these, I’ve seen some comments regarding different routers working or not working with this lift and I now see on the JessEm site that there are adapter kits available to adapt the lift to certain routers.
I have the a Milwaukee Router (5625-20) and I see a shim kit for it. Has anyone used this router with this lift? Does the shim kit work? Should I plan to use a different router? I sent an email to JessEm asking about the kit…not sure how well they answer questions posted to them.
I can’t use it right now, but at that price I’d be a fool not to grab one too. Thanks for the heads up Marc.

I have a PC 890 series router in my router table mounted to a Rockler plate. The PC router has above the table adjustment capability through the holes provided in the plate. I have a 2nd router for doing hand-held work, so it’s no big deal to leave the PC’s router base permanantly attached to the router table.
So what, exactly, does a lift like this gain me over simply using my current setup? Or is it really only useful for when you get into 3+ HP routers?
If this is designed to fit the PC 7518 just wondering what i need to do to get it to fit my DeWalt 618?

I just picked up 3.5″ adapter for the Porter Cable 690, Bosch 1617/1618, and DeWalt 610 routers at Woodcraft, for $14.00 (reg $33.99).
Also I see there is a INCRA Mast-R-Lift routing template for $14.00 at the Incra site (http://www.incrementaltools.co.....nstemp.htm) Woodcraft has the Jessem version listed for $24.99.

So… for mounting, I was thinking of a table saw wing contraption. The plan is for cutting out the footprint of the mounting plate in some 3/4″ baltic birch, with another layer below that’s makes a 3/4″ deep by 1/2″ wide rabbet all the way around, and then use flat head screws for leveling. Any problems with this plan?
And, any recommendations for router? I have a puny Craftsman that does not fit in this lift, so I will clearly have to upgrade. Not planning to run a whole lot of raised panels or anything, so with that in mind would a 1 3/4 hp model be acceptable? What about a single speed model with a separate “router speed control”? Does that setup usually work OK?

I noticed that they were gone as well, I am no longer uplifed. I was going to purchase one next week. Hope somehow they become available again for that price, anyone want to sell theirs for a buck.50 profit, lol.
Now that I have my lift I need to mount it in my table. I’ve seen the template available from Jessem/Woodcraft for about $25 without shipping/tax. I’ve also seen the template from IncrementalTools mentioned above for $14 (about $26 with shipping for me). I have a couple questions.
Can a person find the templates used anywhere? Or is that not recommended?
Do the templates help a great deal (it seems like they would). It would suck to screw up my phenolic top.
Finally, it seems like like there would be two dimensions that would have to be cut; a smaller size for the hole and then a larger rabbet for the height of the plate. But the pictures just show a single piece of mdf. Am I mistaken somehow?
BTW, I have a couple small Hitachi MVC12 routers and was able to get the reducer for it (02115) from IncrementalTools.com They shipped it very quickly and I couldn’t be happier with their service.
It seems one nice thing about getting the larger mastr-lift and reducer rather than the FX model (which could fit my router directly and is slightly cheaper) is that when I graduate to a more powerful router I can continue to use this lift and remove the reducer rather than requiring a whole new lift.

This past weekend, I finished mounting my list on my Powermatic 64a TS extension. I ended up purchasing the template and glad i did. Before cutting the hole in my TS, I tested the template out on 2 scrap pieces of plywood just to see how things fit. Glad I did that because i used the wrong bushing size on the first attempt, but the second one worked great. The lift fits very nice after cutting with the template.
My only complaint is that using the 1/2″ straight cutting bit, did not leave a large enough lip for some of the leveling screws in the template, so on my TS extension I actually enlarges the lip to 3/4″. I used a straight edge and a patter cutting bit.
If you like, I am willing to send the template to you to help in mounting the lift. Or I can email the dimensions/instructions for the template.
Finally, I took a couple photos of the process if you would like to see it.
