LumberJocks Winter 2010 Awards
Its that time of year again. Time to put on your winter coat (or in my case, a light hooded sweatshirt), and brave the cold of the shop to build something awesome for the LumberJocks Winter Awards. This year, the theme is Yin Yang. The challenge is to utilize two contrasting light and dark woods in a way that creates a single, harmonious piece. Sounds like a fun one to me. Submissions start January 1st so you need to get your butt in gear. They have some great prizes from Rockler so check it out. You can get all the details at Lumberjocks.

That’s a very cool idea. Is this contest open to everyone?
Yup. Well, anyone who can build something and take a picture of it. :)
Nice, I have a menorah I made for Chanukah last year out of left over maple and walnut from a floor I put in.
Marc, I’m curious ;-) Did you ever participate in one of their Awards (and did you win)?
I entered way back in 2007 when they first started. I think I got 4th place in the Creativity category and 2nd place in the Craftsmanship category. I think Martin still has the old post up. Yup. http://lumberjocks.com/awards/...../results/2
Great piece!
Bahhhh, you missed it by one point. Heartbreaking. You would have won if only I had known you and your work at that time ;-)
haha, well not many people knew who I was at the time. :) It was exciting to enter though.
