Live Show Sat. 10/27/07 (2pm Eastern)- One Year of TWW
October 23, 2007 | Filed Under Blog
If you can believe it, its already been a full year since The Wood Whisperer launched. My how things have changed! I would have never predicted the show would become this much a part of my career and life. But I have no regrets. With your help, we have created a tight community of woodworkers from all walks of life, and all parts of the globe. We’ve helped new woodworkers enter into the hobby, and we’ve reenergized old woodworkers’ interest in the craft. And most importantly, we’ve managed to make friends and have some fun along the way.
So its time to celebrate! On Saturday, 10/27/07 at 2pm Eastern, we will have a live show. That means live streaming video and a live chat. And it all takes place on the TWWLive Page. Navigating to http://thewoodwhisperer.tv will take you to the same place. It will be the same setup as last time (for those that remember): Nicole behind the camera and mom yelling out the questions from the chat room. Only this time, we will be building something.
With the holiday season coming up quickly, its time start thinking about making gifts. Years ago, I made these simple little pencil/pen holders just for fun. I made two initially, but of course I quickly had a long list of family and friends that wanted them. They are perfect for batching out since they are so tiny, and they also utilize shop scrap. And we can have some fun with different wood combinations while we’re at it. So join us on Saturday to see how I build it. And if you can’t make it on Saturday, have no fear. We will release a video soon after specifically for this project.
See you then.

Got something to say?

Gratz on the 1 year! Seems like it was just yesterday when I stumbled appond episode 2 on Utube!
Congratulations Marc and Nicole on your TWW birthday! (Fanfare, applause, streamers and silly string)
There will be a wood expo in Seattle, 30 miles south of me, during your live show. Will you be recording the whole thing as a video podcast as you did previously? I know you mentioned you will be releasing a video regarding the project but will this encompass all? You guys are great and I also appreciate the Q&A from the other woodworkers who contribute to the show.
By the way, I received my TWW hat that I ordered and I’m wearing it with pride. Thank you both for inspiring me to get started through your podcasts.
Good luck with the live show and…….can we have a guest re-appearance of the famous woodworking Sponge Bob pencil that you featured in a former podcast?
Congrats again to you both.
John
Happy -1- Year probably feels like -2- ;)
Congratulations Marc and to you Nicole, thanks for opening my eyes to wood, as well as, tech.
Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goal.
…I found Marc when he posted the King And His Castle and the cool Bob Ross tee shirt… Man…you are the Bad Ass…

Dan
Has it been a year already?! Congrats!!
I’ll be anxiously awaiting the making of the pencil holders. My wife’s been using a cardboard thingy for storing Q-Tips in the medicine cabinet and I hope I can adapt your project to a replacement.
Let me add my congratulations as well. It’s amazing how the show has improved in such a short time, I love seeing the new episodes in high-def. Also, the new photography (like the pencil boxes) is sharp! I can’t wait for the second year.

Happy aniversary!! The last live cast was a blast - I’m sure this will be good time!

Hello and Congratulations Marc ,Nicole and to you too MOM!! Can’t forget her! Well I just want to say to you how awsome it is to have some one taking the intiative to keep a skill and craft alive and going to the next generation. Podcasting in HD, the incredible picture quality and down to earth frankness of the show is what keeps me tuned to your following.
I hope your second year is just as grand as your first but leading to many more Incredible years.

Let’s hear it for Leo….”Woohoo for Leo”….anyone who acknowledges MOM and shouts it out deserves a “Woohoo”…..Oh yeah, and woohoo for marc and nicole, they’ve done good!!!!! LOL
Congrats to both of you! I think I speak for many of us who eagerly wait each and every new post at TWW. I’m not sure where you two get the time to do all the many things you’ve done in the past year, but we appreciate it! The site and the variety of things you offer has grown so much just in 1 year, can’t wait to see where you go from here!
Congratulations on creating a thriving business model! I wish I could’ve been there for the one year anniversary. I had to help my buddy replace a contractor’s grade sliding door for a really nice Pella slider (dang those are heavy). Can’t wait to see the edited footage. I look forward to another great year!
Hello and Congratulations Marc ,Nicole. You have sparked an old intrest in woodworking and I thank you. As a retired firefighter now doing more with my own business, sound reinforcement and recording, I plan to do woodworking as a way get away from the rat race. Congrats to you too MOM!! Can’t forget her as I am sure with all that you do, her help is a welcome addition. Keep up the great work, I look forward to every podcast and your great information and advice.
I hope your second year is just as grand as your first and many more to follow.
