Happy and Safe 4th of July!
July 3, 2008 | Filed Under Blog
Nicole and I just want to wish everyone a happy and safe holiday. Tonight I prepped my ribs by giving them a nice dusting of my basic BBQ rub. Then, I proceeded to have more fun that a person probably should with raw meat. As you can see, Nicole doesn’t share my fondness for dead animal flesh. Rest assured she won’t be complaining tomorrow when they come out of the smoker! Family, friends, food, and fun. Doesn’t get any better than that. To you and yours, have a great Independence Day!

And for those of you who were wondering about my smoker, its a Bar-B-Chef offset smoker from Barbeques Galore.

Mark, now that you have teased us are you going to share that family secret rub of yours. If Nicole doesn’t like them that means for you, let her have the broccoli salad.
Is sawdust the secret ingredient? Enjoy :) Hmmm ribs.
You two consistently are one of the cutest couples.
You always look so happy.
Hello Everybody,
I dont want to ruin anybody’s holiday, or anything. This just happened to be the day that what happened, happened. …and no this is not a joke.
First off i just wanted to let everybody know, for the past few years, i was lying… I am only 15, soon to be 16, not 28 or however old i said i was, and im obviosly not married, i barely have a girlfriend. However much of what i have said WAS true, just not what i said about myself.
This will be the last day I will be visiting this/or any other woodworking site, for at least a EVERY long time.
You see, i can no longer do any woodworking because my father has decided i should be more concerned about college then stupid woodworking, (which, to a point, is true) There for im afraid im going to have to put all current projects to a final halt, find a way to try and replace all/some of the money i have now wasted on tools and supplies. and find a new hobby… again.
Again this is not a joke, and i didnt want to ruin anyones holiday. Today is just when my Dad decided to tell me i couldn’t woodwork anymore, nice guy, right… This is just more of a I’m coming clean, and saying a final goodbye.
Thanks for all of your help and advice Marc, and everyone else ive talked to over the past few years, you will be missed.
P.S.

Crazy :o) Happy 4th of July …
Mmm smoked ribs. What kind of smoker are you using?
Nice smoker Marc! Those ribs look yummy too. If anyone out there doesn’t like smoked ribs, I have a good recipe: I use baby back ribs and boil them in a pot of apple juice for about an hour or so. Then rub them with sweet and sour sauce and throw them on the grill. They only take about 10 minutes on the grill because they are already cooked! The meat falls off the bone and tastes great. It’s a good alternative to barbecue sauces and smokers ;-)
Smoking is my hobby, wood is my work. I don’t smoke ribs much, but I sure enjoy smoking briskets. Marc, I would have figured you for more of an exotic smoker, like the Big green egg, or a Cookshack. The Festools of the smoking world.
haha…. if Big Green Egg wants to sponsor our show, maybe I can get one. :)
so Marc how’d those ribs work out :). i had some monster steroid hotdogs. they were like 1.5″ thick and 8″ long! it was awesome!
the ribs were ok. Could have been better. Not the greatest cut but the flavor was there. Those dogs sound HUGE dude!
here in New Hampshire, we have walkways to keep from ruining the grass.. why exactly do you need to protect your dirt?
lol. Because walking in dirt and rocks is no fun?
