Grandfather Clock – Project of the Week

This week’s project comes from Dave. And an awesome project it is! Let’s check it out:

“After I saw you making the Greene & Greene joint, I thought I would send you a few pictures of a Greene&Greene clock that I built. Its built of mahogany. The Movement and cables are from Klockit. All joints are mortise and tenon. The plugs are ebony. And the numbers on the clock face are hand made. There is a secret door or at least it WAS a secret.”

“I attended a woodworking class with Dale Barnard last spring. The project took 10 days to build and I learned a lot too.

10 days? Wow, you put us all to shame. Wingfoot, I name you.

Maybe one day I can learn to build a clock like this. Time will tell.

Wow, Ten days? I think it wold take me at least a month working everyday. I’m old and slow but I think I could build it. But then again maybe not. Claude

Very Nice clock – would like to build one like that for my father some day, soon. Was there something that inspired the design or did you come up with that on your own?
