Oh, one question I had (and I know I'm writing this a year after you've posted this!)... how much total wood did you have to use, and if you don't mind me asking, how much did it cost?

I'm with Danny: the colors are really striking. I do have a liking for the 'natural look', but you really hit a home run with the colors. What does it for me isn't even so much the specific colors you used; it's the way they contrast with each other... really brings a lot of life to the piece. Love it! Thanks for sharing this with all of us.

Thanks for the kind remarks.

To Conrad: I found MIller's book worth the money and fairly easy to follow. It provides the essentials of chair making that can be applied to chairs of your own design or his more advanced projects. I'll just say that without the book I wouldn't have had a clue to know where to begin.

Danny: Thanks. I couldn't agree with you more regarding that brown furniture. While a certainly enjoy projects with naturally contrasting woods, I cringe when I see the monotone projects so many woodworking magazines offer.

Very nicely done John! I get tired of seeing furniture with just a brown stain or a yellowish clear finish so it's nice to see more woodworkers putting some color on their wood projects, and in your case with elegant style. Rock on!

Hey John, very nice work!! You table and chairs look awesome!

Quick question....I would like to learn to build chairs as well. Was Jeff Miller’s Chair building book good? There are so many books and you nver know which ones are good or not.

Marc do you have any furniture building books to recommend?

Thanks Guy's!
