Great wood combination! Especially considering the color of your wall(s?), the padauk looks wonderful. I’m jealous of your nearby lumber mill! The closest one to me is something like 200 miles away :(.

Thanks so much for all your opinion fellas, I really had a lot of fun making this one. I am very lucky to have a first rate lumber mill about 10 min from where I live. The next nearest mill to compare is about 300 km away! They carry nearly all the exotics and the pricing is excellent. The Padauk top was a board 14 ft long and 14 inches wide and just over an inch thick and only cost $170.00 cash.

I used the same wood combination when I made a captains bed for my son. The maple makes the padauk really pop and seem even redder. Great looking project.

The finish is beautiful. And it’s nice how the TV floats above the center.
