A Little Love for the International Viewers

July 20, 2008 | Filed Under Blog

One thing that quickly became clear in our recent survey was not only the fact that we have international viewers (something we were already aware of), but that we have A LOT of international viewers. In the past 6 months, about 30% of our t-shirt and DVD orders have been to international customers! This, my friends, is what doing a show on the internet is all about!

So we just wanted to take a moment to welcome our international friends. And just for fun, we added a live map on the blog page that shows the origin of the most recent visitors. The small map shows the last 100 visitors and the big map (click on the image) shows you the last 1000 visitors. I installed the map late last night and I already see visitors from Iceland, Canada, France, Brazil, Norway, Sweden, the Netherlands, the UK, Finland, Romania, Austria, Germany, Denmark, Australia Ireland, Italy, Portugal, Pakistan, Jordan, Israel, Mexico and Russia!! Nicole and I wish you all a hearty welcome and hope that you enjoy your visit to our site. We may be a world apart, but we are really only a mouse click away. I would like buy you all a Coke!

Hey, love what you do Mark, I’m a big fan, but this add is as stupid now as it was when it came out. I remember. I was going into my second year at The Military Academy and my first reaction was, “this must be a spoof on some science fiction movie…”.

    Later…

Hey, I loved the add when it came out and still do. But, I’ve always been a hippy without the long hair. Now I’m a hippy without much hair:D Congratulations on your World Wide success.

Marc, I’m sorry I’m skewing your stats - I’m on vacation in Sweden at the moment. There is a lack of any kind of woodworking magazine in the news stands here. I have yet to find one. There are plenty of “home improvement” type magazines, though. I’m not sure if it reflects the state of woodworking in Sweden, but it’s kind of sad.

Mark, you gotta get one of those white turtle necks ( at -00:14) and put a WW logo on it ! Man that would be “The Real Thing”
We might even wear it up here in The Great White North…EH !

New Sponsors Marc? lol… that thing brings back memories of an era… when Coke was a soda an a Joint was a bad place to hang around in (not original, but this was just too perfect of an opportunity to finally use this)

    bottoms up!

It is comforting to know that there are people all over the world who enjoy woodworking as much as I do. It certainly would be nice to see more pictures of projects and workshops from other countries.

In regards to the Coke commercials, I don’t mind any of the old ones, but the latest ones are pretty stupid. Who really wants a Coke that was kissed by a bunch of weird little monsters and cooled at the sacrifice of a Snow Man? What are they thinking?

On a side note, I love Coke. I have two every day. Believe it or not, but I drink mine from a stemless wine glass (O-Riedel, Pinot Noir) http://www.riedel.com/ with lots of ice. The trick is to pour the Coke first – if you put the ice in first, you take the chance of the glass breaking.

Coke is for people who can’t have Dr. Pepper. With that said, I like the ad and think that it is very cool that there are international Wood Whisperer fans.

Well, I think I might have helped you here in Israel. I have been watching you since you did those cutting boards. I am a woodturner who one day would like to learn about flatwork, that’s how I found you on youtube. I then shared your videos with other woodturners. Keep up the good job!

Well congrats for your webcast show…it helped me a lot while getting the exact idea of what I wanted to do…altough I did some wood working in the past while I was In Dallas long time ago ( that was before I got married and finish dy degree in Civil Engineering) I always had this thing for woodworking ( both my dad and grandfather had their own construction companies and did had a woodworking shop as a hobby…but this is no my case…I do look forward to have my own fine furniture company here in Mexico, and well just wanted to say thtwhile reading your bio ( like you were in the biotech industry once, and I am a Civil Engineer)…well just clear my mind and my goals…well I wish that you have success and that you have an impressive web site that hopefully help a lot of people like me

    Best Regards

    Manuel Cantu

    How’s it going Mark?
I just thought it was interesting how Israel is the only country without roads and other map details! Interesring no?
I’m of course not blaming you, but I find this kind of reminisant of the isolation of South Africa during the apartide regime!
It realy puts me in a twist (unless its for Security reasons/ which I doubt!!!)
In any case I love your show and web site. I visit it often as time allows me.
Keep up the good work and take good care of your wife! Nichole,
She never did do that pod cast on turnig did she?
By the way you did fine pronouncing my name earlier in the week!
I used to get pronounciation questions all the time! (when I lived in NJ)
    Lots of luck,
    Chaim

Got something to say?
