Incredible--my two favorite podcasters uniting in one epic tower of AWESOMENESS! :) What a marvelous collision of worlds this was.

Marc, you REALLY outdid yourself on this one, and it contains so many key elements of your style and identity as an artist--the contrasting, exotic woods in light and dark, the shapely curves of the wide-stock legs, the Asian design influence, the attention to grainwork, the playful, inventive touch of incorporating magnets to slip out the shelf backs, your signature hand-rubbed varnish....hell, even the dash of technology in its intended functionality!

The piece is truly a culmination of your past few years in woodworking and podcasting, and how powerful it was to see you giving it away to a man who has influenced so many of us with what he has given away these same few years--the birth of the TWiT family of podcasts.

You two embody and sustain the original spirit of the Internet and of artistry--doing art for art's sake and spreading knowledge for knowledge's sake. Thanks so much for allowing us into your work and life, and thanks for sharing this moment that was clearly profound for you, as you were able to give back to your other "master," from the tech side of things, and to give something of such value.

Fantastic work! (and thanks, Nicole, for introducing him to Leo and keeping him going in the podcast business! :)

The gadget station turned out great,
And I am too a big fan of Leo,
It seems like he did not know or forgot what was coming.
I think truly he was wowed and loved it, as what Leo said
“This was the best gift he as received”, from his reaction I think so.

Do you have any closeups of your wood-burned signature from any projects? Interested to see how it turns out

Thanks,
Matt

I noticed the change after I posted. I too use to watch Leo on Call for Help in the good old days. Talk about going full circle. Can't say one would ever think of seeing a woodworker on TWiT.

What a great finish to this story. Congrats to both of you and Leo was definately true to his word because every time I tune in to TWiT live I see the gadget station hanging out in the back of the frame. Now you need to make something for whoever will be our next president. From Petaluma to the White House!!!
